Memories - acrylic on watercolor paper

The colors and movement in this painting were inspired by my childhood, growing up in Northern California with the mountains in my front yard and Clearlake in my backyard.

As a child we traveled from my hometown of Nice, to Oregon. I still have the vivid recollection of riding down the highway and seeing the most beautiful mountain, Mt Shasta, with its snow covered tops. So grand and vast.

The air was crisp and clean. The smell of earth filled my lungs as I took in a deep breath. As a child I didn’t fully understand the feelings I was experiencing or the memories I was making. I am thankful for this one.
